There was once a great drought in the Land, causing life to suffer. The Lion, the Leopard, the Hyena, and the Donkey, who governed the land, gathered together to discover the source of their sufferings.
They decided that God must be punishing them for their sins. To fix things, they began to their confess sins in hopes of offering a suitable sacrifice.
The Lion confessed to killing a defenseless baby gazelle. But because the other three FEARED the Lion, they declared "No Sin".
The Leopard confessed to eating a lost sheep stuck in a fence. But because the other three ADMIRED the Leopard's camouflaging spots and innovative hunting ability, they declared "No Sin".
The Hyena confessed to eating a mother bird and stealing eggs in the abandoned nest. But because the other three LOVED the Hyena's sense of humor, they declared "No Sin".
Finally, the Donkey confessed to stealing two blades of grass before his appointed time of supper. But the other three looked at the Donkey (who no one FEARED, LOVED, nor ADMIRED) and declared "Sin!"; devouring him as a sacrifice to God. And to this day, those in power historically always punish what they don't FEAR, LOVE nor ADMIRE.
